As a young boy, Scott spent some time wandering and fossicking along the beaches of Cape Barren Island. It was here that he found pieces of amethyst and began his fascination with precious and semi-precious gemstones. Following the path that only those who want to lead interesting lives will choose, Scott has attained a trade in welding, a degree in design and education, and followed on with gemmology and diamond grading. He is also a registered valuer. Scott now passionately resides in the business of creating beautiful jewellery. With a strong knowledge of diamonds and coloured stones, he is the grand poo-bah of the team with a down to earth approach.
With a bit of a penchant for all things luxury, combined with a passion to deliver high-end fine jewellery to the beautiful people of Hobart, this is the girl that tries to glue the two together. A bizarre dichotomy of loving the wild, empty open spaces of Tasmania but also needing to get off the rock to see how the other half live means that Freya has her head stuffed full of ideas about what the progressive Hobart people should have in their jewellery boxes. She is passionate about creating a premium shopping experience where everyone who enters the store will be made to feel special.
Fiona lives and breathes jewellery and jewellery design. We are convinced that this girl might have a little bit of sparkle running through her veins as her family lived and worked in the mining district of NSW. But if you think she grew up getting her hands dirty down a mine shaft, think again. Fiona resided in Sydney for most of her life where she designed and created jewellery for sophisticated Sydney circles. Her time at Cerrone Jewellers, Hardy Bros amounted to 24 years making her one of the most experienced designers in the trade. If you want to have something truly special commissioned then this lady is the best of the best.
Jewellery holds special memories and wonderful stories. No one appreciates the sentimental significance of jewellery more than Kate. Throughout her career, she has surrounded herself with precious objects from the past, and works with meticulous care and detail to preserve and care for your valuable objects. As a gemologist, she is able to help discover the hidden stories in your jewellery and can assist you in selecting something special for someone so that stories can continue. Kate’s nimble fingers are often disposed towards threading treasured pearls and other beautiful objects – a skill that is rare but valuable to those of us who cherish heirlooms and things of beauty.
Jess, our very own little gypsy was drawn to Tasmania by love and adventure and we’re absolutely thrilled that her creative prowess made it to our workshop. Jess‘s journey to us began in the small surfy own of Tuross Heads in New South Wales where she grew up. This young nomad then moved to Canberra where she dabbled in hospitality before discovering her true passion in jewellery, the perfect outlet for her creative and inspired eye for design. After years of playing with beads and trinket jewellery, Jess learnt the art of manufacturing jewellery with an apprenticeship at Diamond Boutique in Canberra. Jess finds jewellery architectural and appreciates the combination of aesthetics and careful engineering. Art, design and imagination can be found in all areas of Jess‘ life. Aside from creating beautiful handmade jewellery or completing challenging restorations, you’ll find Jess playing an eclectic playlist in our workshop, creating stunning art using resin and acrylics or looking after her fur babies (all of which are rescue dogs), Billy, Ted, Sunny and Bella.
